I unfortunately did not get into my top schools for MS/PhD applications so I'm looking for pre-doc equivalents (similar to how things work in economics) for computer science. I've cold emailed a good amount of professors that I am interested in working with, but most seem to lack funding or don't reply to cold emails. Any better ideas on how to go about this?
I've been reading up on papers related to the intersection of LLMs and space systems. I am (and always have been) very pessimistic with regards to the decision making capabilities of LLMs. However, every paper I read seems very bullish on the use cases of LLMs as spacecraft operators, decision makers for observation scheduling, and controllers in autonomy. Curious to hear the thoughts of others or connect with people in the field.
Planning to visit MIT in the coming weeks -- any recommendations on places to see, things to do, and people to talk to? I have reached out to a couple professors for chats already
