This week I learned the term AGI. I found a video online speculating why Sam Altman may be looking to raise trillions $.

If AGI is really achieved, what do you think would happen next. How would the stock market react, winners, losers?

What would happen with the value of money and human society in general.

Interesting to hear what people think, it can't be all doom and gloom. How would we control this thing?

Requirements: - Write software engineering blogs with markdown - Open IDE, write some thoughts, push new version of the blog from my terminal - Be able to host on github for free - Be able to display code with syntax (I guess if it supports markdown it will support that too?) - Maintain structure e.g. post dates, navigation, post tags - Ability to have a page about me

Bonus points - be able to personalise a little bit the look and feel if I wanted to e.g. font

For people who lived through 2007-2008 do you think the current times feel similar to how the last financial crisis unfolded?

I haven't used my Alexa for ages, decided to turn it on to play a bunch of Abba songs this yesterday.

1) It won't play only Abba songs as I asked her, it's throwing other "similar" songs in the mix. 2) when I ask her to play next song it started telling my I can only skip 6 songs, like WTF.

I'm wondering if there is a free API that I can use to figure out when planes are flying around my home and give me some metadata like plane type, destination, altitude, speed etc. I guess I could come up with some scraper for flightradar24, but I was wondering of there is a proper free API that can do that for me?

I'm a software engineer looking for a side hustle as a solo. I'm considering buying a project from Flippa or similar platform, which has some traction already. My budget will be <$2500. Preferable SaaS or App.

My girlfriend is entering her final year of her PhD program which is specifically doing lab research around Cardiovascular Sciences. She isn't very sure what to do next, but having a look at one of the possibilities - being lab technician seems like a waste of time when you look at the time invested in studies vs salary expectations.

At the same time many people are seeing the Genomics industry being the next hottest industry after tech.

I'm a software engineer myself and I would like to help my partner develop even further.

From your experience what are some good career prospects that can take PhD & Masters degree in Cardiovascular Sciences & Genetics and potentially couple them with programming? What kind of companies are looking for such skilled people so we can read their job specs?

And from programming side, what kind of skills are usually required in such a career? Should we start by looking at Python courses and where do we move to after? Machine learning?

I know the question is a bit open ended, to some degree that's because I'm lacking knowledge in her field! Many thanks!

I'm a backend engineer who has very limited experience with mobile engineering. I would like to build an app which is simple e.g. filling forms, showing charts, register/login etc. Basic presentation layer on top of backend API. I'm looking for the quickest way to build this, preferably hybrid app which can compile to iOS & android from the same codebase. What are my best options for framework in 2021?
