As per title, what would happen if Facebook, Twitter, Uber and other big company founder follow the lean startup method in the early days?

I'm talking about creating a 1 page website to track potential interest. Would they still persist with the idea?

I remember Pinterest founder says that he is glad he did not read the book "The Lean Startup" because it might have convinced him to give up at that point.

Assuming you live in a time where there is no computer, what would you do as your hobby? What sort of hobby that is closely related to coding but without computer that you would consider?
