Thanks!
I recently launched https://roboswarm.dev, a WordPress and WooCommerce load testing platform. RoboSwarm is opinionated (with some flexibility) and can give you a good sense of how many users your WordPress site or WooCommerce store can handle.
Why should you use RoboSwarm?
- Peace of mind - Easy - Authenticated & Unauthenticated load tests - Massive scaling (capped at 2000 users right now, but can go much higher) - Global distribution (we run load generators in all DigitalOcean regions - Custom WooCommerce load tests (every Woo setup is different. We're creating each test by hand at first while we look for common patterns to automate) - Affordable (we spin up testing infrastructure on-demand, so our fixed costs are low)
I hope everyone checks it out!
Is anyone using DigitalOcean managed databases in production? Specifically looking for your experience with Postgres and Redis.
- How is performance?
- Is the reliability solid?
- The cost seems in line with other offerings, but curious if this is a consideration for you.
Thanks!
I am originally from a town of ~6,000 people in northern Michigan. My story mirrors most of the college educated students in my graduating class: moved away for college, got a degree, and then stayed away from home because there are few jobs for college educated people.
I've always wanted to give back to my home community by starting a software company there. The local economy couldn't support a software consultancy, but a SaaS company could work. The obvious problem is attracting and retaining talent [and also having a profitable company ;)].
I suspect that there are software developers out there that would want to have the small-town lifestyle while still working on interesting things and not having to be remote.
So, has anyone here ever started a software company in a small town? How'd it go? What were some of the problems? Successes?
Thanks!
