I am a fairly new developer with couple years of experience. One of the things I struggle is that i am not very detail oriented. I see senior developer pointing out to small intricate mistakes/opinion which I have missed. On the other hand, I see some senior developers who are great programmers but they lack the eye for detail. How can I develop a sharp eye for details? These are the things related to the domain knowledge as well as other non-domain related things.
I have not used Expression Engine, but i am so confused that even though most quality CMSs and blogging engines are free yet expression engine, and many other paid CMSs and blogging engines, have a market. Why is that?
I know this is not the right way to figure out stuff but i guess HN can give a little advice over here. I know basic html/css, i can covert a pdf into html if given 7-8 hours..apart from that i have no skill. I am learning javascript right now. I have a big day coming in the start of May 2012, and i need to have around $2000 before that...what's the most appropriate path i should follow to achieve this target?
