From a first principle perspective, where's the best place to begin exploring pandoras box?

I'm building a FinTech platform, utilising a core banking API, but the people I have spoken to have not shown a clear preference for either ReactJS or Native. Neither side ever fully explains why one over the other though. Any recommendation for either would be hugely useful at this juncture

Who are the most interesting startups you have come across in Europe? Preferably early-stage or pre-VC funded

What maths must be understood to enable pursuit of either of the above fields? are there any seminal texts/courses/content which should be consumed before starting?

Could be about China's history, it's future, works of fiction, philosophy etc.
